Life-threatening situation?
Call 112 immediately!

Are you on holiday in the West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen region and do you need medical care? From Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., you can send your medical inquiries via an app to the nurses and general practitioners of the digital nursing service Medicoo. It is no longer possible to make an appointment directly in one of the GP practices.

You can get in touch with the medical team at your holiday destination. The app is also multilingual, so you can chat in your own language.

The Nucleus doctor's out-of-hours service also works with Medicoo on weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The app is available for all questions. You can contact Medicoo via the app at a time that is convenient for you. The doctor's out-of-hours service can be reached by telephone on weekdays after 17:00 and on weekends for care that cannot wait until the next day.

  1. Download the app and register directly:
    Or scan the QR code
  2. Select 'I am on holiday'
  3. Register yourself in the app (you will need your BSN number or European Health Insurance (EHIC) card)
  4. Select the location of your holiday address
  5. Answer the questions asked and ask your healthcare question via chat. You will immediately receive personal advice.

What do you keep on hand?

If you call 0115 643 000, the call will be answered by an experienced, specially trained medical assistant. She will ask you to describe your symptoms. In order to help you properly, the assistant will also ask you for the following information:

  • For your personal details (date of birth, name, address and phone number).
  • For your symptoms and what help you need.
  • Further questions about your symptoms, your use of medication, medical history (diseases, surgery, allergies).
  • For details of your insurance, on a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). These EHICs are the only insurance items that a doctor abroad can accept.
  • If an appointment is made, we will ask you to bring a valid EHIC card with you and an identity card/passport, so that we can make a copy for administrative purposes.

Financial settlement

Anyone can contact the GP centre if urgent medical help is needed. With a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), we can record the insurance details immediately. Without a valid EHIC, you can still use the GP centre, but we need to ask you to pay (only by card).
